Emily's Story

This is the story of our baby, Emily, and how she is coping with Failure-To-Thrive issues.

Name:

My name is Fran, and I am a Mom and homeschooler to three wonderful children. I enjoy spending time with them and my loving husband and spoiled rotten Samoyed pup. I am also a post-graduate student working on Doctorate in Education. I am passionate about Early Intervention Services for special needs children. Early Intervention works!

Emily had a very "liberalized" weekend. Her grandparents, aunt, and cousins visited us, and we all had a great time. Emily kept raiding her baby cousin's stash of Cheerios, and she did not seem to be symptomatic. Today I gave her a small handful of Cheerios, most of which she tossed on the floor--new game, very funny--to Emily! Tonight, she is coughing and gagging, and the main suspect is Cheerios.

So, tomorrow, I'm giving her tummy a break and on Thursday, I'm going ahead with plain rice or rice cereal. She's been doing well on bananas and applesauce, so I plan to give her a serving of one of those as well.
